05 – Malaysia Travel Guide – Central Region

Vibrant towns and cities, towering buildings, great shopping and exciting theme parks make up the urban landscape of Malaysia’s central region. This region comprises the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya as well as the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. The region boasts gleaming megastructures, heritage quarters and world-class events.

While Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia’s capital city, Putrajaya is the country’s administrative capital. The majestic Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower are among the country’s
iconic landmarks. Putrajaya is hailed as the ‘Intelligent Garden City’ for its harmonious blend of infrastructure and nature. As the country’s hub for commerce and finance, the central region is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and top-notch facilities. It is home to the country’s main entry points; Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), KLIA 2, well as Port Klang, the largest port in the country.
